Pats Peak is an independent alpine ski resort located in Henniker, New Hampshire. Position: Line Cook Name of Employer: Pats Peak Skiing LLC Positions Available: Four (4), full-time and seasonal Location of Employment: 686 Flanders Road, Henniker, NH 03242 (Merrimack County) Position Duties: Line cook will be responsible for handling all food prep. Required to understand and follow proper food handling procedures for all food related to the menus. Responsible for the cleaning of the entire food prep area. Responsible for shut down and close of food service at the end of the night. Cooking on a flat grill. Use the friolators to deep fry food. Filtering oil & cleaning the friolators. Bake pizzas. Serving hot food from a steam table. Make coffee in large coffee urns. Move urns to counter for consumption. Restock paper goods and food. May require carrying cases from basement to cafeteria or carrying cases from walk-in in basement to cafeteria or freezer in basement to cafeteria. Remove all trash to appropriate dumpster. Remove all cardboard to appropriate dumpster. Put all stock away at the close of business. Make cold sandwiches & an assortment of salads. Clean grease trap. Must be a team player and work well with other cooks and serving staff. Rate of Pay: $18.01/hour + DOE (The employer will pay or exceed the prevailing wage, as determined by the US Dept of Labor.) Free skiing, rentals and lessons (all with supervisor approval) when off duty, meal discounts and retail discounts. Full time, seasonal employees receive a 25% discount on retail prices. Food discount of $30 food value for $21.50 on meal cards (for use in Trade Winds Cafeteria and Twister’s Pizza.) A 30% discount is offered on beverages in the Sled Pub. (Employees must be at least 21 years of age to be in the Sled Pub.) Hours per Week: 40 (OT is preferred and may sometimes be required, to be paid at $27.02/hour + DOE) Start Date: 12/01/2022 End Date: 03/01/2023 Work hours: 40 hrs/wk. Work schedule can vary and can include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Work can be performed on any day of the week Monday - Sunday. Shift hours may vary. Days off vary. Standard Shifts are as follows: Monday to Thursday (split shifts) 10am – 4pm and 4pm – 9pm. Friday to Saturday: 9am – 4pm or 4pm – 10pm. Sunday shift: 9am – 4pm. Overtime may be required. Schedules are influenced by weather conditions and guest attendance. Single workweek will be used to compute wages due. Workers will be paid every week by check or direct deposit. All deductions from the workers’ paycheck required by law will be made. Housing is offered and optional. Cost of housing, if accepted, is $200.00 per month, and includes utilities. If used, total cost of housing will be deducted from the employee's paycheck. A refundable security deposit of $200.00 is due, to be paid in full upfront directly to the employer. Housing is within walking distance to worksite. 3 months experience required. The petitioner will consider any person for employment who possesses at least three (3) months of culinary experience in a fine-dining or high-volume environment at a high-end restaurant, resort, or private club. No min education or training required. On-the-job training is provided. Transportation (including meals and, to the extent necessary, lodging) to the place of employment will be provided, or its cost to workers reimbursed, by check separate from payroll, if the worker completes half the employment period. Return transportation will be provided if the worker completes the employment period or is dismissed early by the employer. In other words, if the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work by check separate from payroll. Upon completion of the work contract period, or where the employee is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for the workers reasonable cost of return transportation and subsistence back home or the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $14.00 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts. The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period. H-2B workers will be reimbursed in the first work week all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees). The employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job.
