Youth Counselor

Become a Youth Counselor with the Sununu Youth Services Center at DHHS!
Coordinating & supervising daily activities for SYSC residents.
• Providing a safe & secure environment for youth.
• Upholding the vision and mission of the agency through utilizing the Practice Model theories, beliefs, and principles in daily practice.
Minimum Qualifications…
Education: Associate’s degree or 60 credits from a recognized college or technical institute with a
study in sociology, psychology, human services, behavioral science, social work, education, liberal
studies, theology, or criminal justice.
Experience: Six months experience working in organized group activities, such as camp counseling,
scouting, school or church programs, or working with mentally or physically challenged youth.
Candidates with at least 18 months of experience in these areas may be eligible without a degree.
Each additional year of approved education may be substituted for one year of required work
experience.
